Each Family is Unique

If man is made to the image and likeness of God, the most natural grouping of men must somewhat follow the grouping of God in His inner being. In our human terms, we call this grouping as communion. Naturally we, as human persons, have this communion, which is first established in the union of man and woman in marriage. Following the natural course of events – as willed by our Creator--, this union bears offspring and the grouping is called family. It is the most basic grouping found in the human society. It is the most natural thing. People are not taught to form families. They just follow nature. People fall in love and come together. Then, children come out naturally. The bond among themselves is so strong that they live a community of life.

Bringing Up Children

educhild2016The basic foundation in good relationship comes from one's upbringing in the family.

In the course of seven Sundays that started last May 22, Dualtech Center organized a Parenting Course with the support of EDUCHILD Foundation.

EDUCHILD stands for Education for the Upbringing of Children. It believes that Parenting is an acquired skill rather than a collection of techniques and concepts. The best way to learn these skills is to experience it through simulation of real life situations. Thus, for seven Sundays participants went over, discussed and argued “real-life scenarios” about parenting. EDUCHILD applies the Case Method of instruction.

TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority)

T-PascuaWe are now entering our 34th year as an institution, and we shall have six graduations this year as programmed. We estimated that we shall have about 600 graduates in total by the end of the year. This being the 1st Graduation we thought to anchor it by having with us the leadership of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. We are fortunate that we have the Deputy Director General of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, he, prior to be in TESDA, chair the board of Trustees Wesleyan University in Cabanatuan, and he took a leave as partner of a Law firm that he formed with a couple of colleagues, therefore he rendered full time to us. He graduated from The University of the Philippines in Diliman in the Law School and had a bachelor's Degree in Political Science in the same University. I had a conversation with him last week and, what I felt was that he would be prouder to be distinguished as a good husband and a good father to his kids. And because he quoted for 3 times the words “Seek here first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you”, I perceive that he is striving to be a good son to our good Lord. Ladies and Gentlemen let us welcome Atty. Ted Pascua.

Because It’s There

“Because it’s there”, is the reply of mountain climbers when asked “Why do you climb mountains?”  A mountain not conquered is an opportunity.

tacloban-boys“Because it is there” are the replies of the students from Tacloban, Bohol, and Palawan when asked “Why are you here in Dualtech?”  These students could have taken the passive way after the calamities struck their respective provinces.  There are students whose houses were crushed by a ship that run aground.  These students saw their parents remain strong during a dark moment.  These students, who experienced untimely maturation, have a mountain to climb.
