ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya partners with Dualtech and its Alumni Association for Community Service

ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya invited Dualtech Center to visit one of its adopted communities in San Roque, San Rafael, Bulacan to invite prospect scholars to enroll in its program. As they believe in the value of quality technical education, character formation, and industry partnership, the foundation introduced Dualtech as its academe partner that will provide these students the right training under its key priority areas for livelihood and employment.

Dualtech at the forefront

The Philippines is one of the countries with a growing economy with multinational industries beginning to locate in the country. The province of Laguna, where Dualtech is situated, is home to the biggest privately-developed Technoparks in Southeast Asia, with hundred thousand employees depending on these companies for their income. With such a scale and demand for technology and its partner technical sector, it’s no surprise that the economy is demanding more and more experts well-versed in technical support.

The marching orders of Pres. Duterte to TESDA to offer more courses that will support his Build, Build, Build Program underscores the lack of skilled workers in our country. A large percentage of families want their children to be college-educated, in the hope of seeing them land professional jobs. The willingness of the youth to sign up for construction or manufacturing positions is reduced in importance for jobs behind computers in air-conditioned offices. For most Filipino families, the road to success is paved with a bachelor’s degree.

TESDA Calabarzon awarded the Dual Training System (DTS) accreditation certificates to 27 companies. Headed by its former Regional Director Florencio Sunico Jr, the event was also joined by TESDA Laguna Provincial Director Pascual Arriola and DTS focal persons Mss. Imee Sigua and Bing Gallego.

In the welcome message, Mr. Arnolfo Morfe, Dualtech’s President, cited the recent visit of Hanns Seidel Foundation which was instrumental in allowing Dualtech Center to pioneer the dual training system program in the country. “Hanns Seidel congratulated us and told that they are happy to see Dualtech standing over 30 years now after its initial funding. We survived because of our partnership with the local companies here in the Philippines.” Mr. Morfe said acknowledging each company that was added to the roster of industry partners of Dualtech.

“Letting one person live needs a little bit of help from many people, either directly or indirectly. Not everyone can exist solely through his or her own strengths, but requires support from others.”

Giving life to the words of  the Founder, another batch of 5 Dualtech students were awarded with a scholarship from the Panasonic Scholarship Program. Scholars from Cebu, Bohol, and Batangas received the support during the Panasonic Scholarship Award 2019 Ceremony held at Panasonic Auditorium, Taytay, Rizal. Now on its second year, Panasonic has selected deserving and qualified individuals to receive the assistance.
